This keeps cloud a means of moving the organisation forward, rather than a collection of disconnected services.

How should we start a cloud migration?

What is a cloud landing zone?

A landing zone is the preconfigured foundation that brings together areas such as identity, network connectivity, security policy, logging, operations and accountability. It supports consistent governance as cloud use grows, but does not by itself guarantee a secure or effective environment.

How do we control cloud costs?

By making ownership, budgets, capacity and use visible from the design stage. Regular reporting and optimisation help prevent unused capacity and fragmented services from quietly increasing spend.

How do we avoid unwanted supplier dependency?

By setting requirements for data, integrations, contracts, expertise and exit in advance. Complete independence is not always realistic or desirable, but dependencies should be deliberate, financially visible and practical to unwind. For data and workloads requiring stronger control, we address this through data sovereignty and sovereign data storage.
